PPG sleep diagnostics · Nigeria

Sleep intelligence that meets patients where they sleep.

KuraNyx transforms overnight physiological signals into physician-interpreted insights for sleep apnea detection, cardiometabolic risk stratification, and longitudinal monitoring - all from the comfort of home.

Healing through the night. Kuranyx — from Kura (heal, Swahili) and Nyx (Greek goddess of night).

The problem

Most sleep apnea in Nigeria is never diagnosed.

A full in-lab polysomnogram requires a bed, a technician, and a night away from home — a barrier most patients never clear. The result is untreated disease that quietly compounds cardiovascular and metabolic risk.

01

Too few labs

Sleep labs are concentrated in a handful of cities, far from where most patients live.

02

Long waits

Limited lab capacity means a referral can sit in a queue for months before a study happens.

03

Out of reach

A hospital-based study is costly and disruptive, putting it out of reach for many who need it.

How it works

Three steps, one night, at home.

01

Wear

The patient wears a ring oximeter to bed. It records SpO₂, pulse and motion continuously through the night.

02

Analyse

Cloud and on-device models estimate oxygen desaturation index, apnea–hypopnea burden, and sleep stages from the raw signal.

03

Interpret

A sleep physician reviews the study and signs off the report, delivered through Sleep AeroCare.

Built for our patients

Designed around African skin, African data.

  • Skin-tone-aware by design

Performance across Monk Skin Tone 6–10 is a gating requirement in validation, not an afterthought.

  • Data designed to stay home

Nigeria-resident patient data storage is being put in place under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, alongside access controls and encryption.

  • Trained on local sleep

Models are fine-tuned on African polysomnography data, not adapted from elsewhere as an afterthought.

For institutions

Sleep diagnostics your hospital or payer can run at scale.

For hospitals, clinics and payers who need a diagnostic pathway that reaches more patients without adding lab capacity.

  • Multi-site dashboard across facilities
  • On-demand physician interpretation
  • Payer-ready reporting
  • Encrypted, access-controlled data — Nigeria residency in progress
Evidence

Where validation stands today.

In progress

Clinical validation

Comparing ring PPG against polysomnography, with Bland–Altman agreement analysis and a dedicated Monk Skin Tone 6–10 subgroup.

In progress

NAFDAC pathway

SaMD technical file prepared under an IMDRF risk framework; registration is in progress.

In place

Data protection

Access controls and encryption for patient data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023. Nigeria data residency is being put in place.

Kuranyx is a clinical decision-support tool undergoing validation. It supports, and does not replace, clinical judgement or an in-lab polysomnogram where one is indicated.
